Yearbook Team Bucket Lists
Here I have interviewed a few of my yearbook classmates about their bucket lists and here are their responses to my questions.

Meghan
“ I do have a bucket list.  My mom had inspired me to make one so she knew what I wanted to do. I keep my bucket list either in my room or in my binder. I probably look at my every day or so. It hopefully will take me to become a teacher or a counselor. I think that my mom would help me complete my bucket list because she has all of the money. I think that the coolest thing on my list is to become a girl scout counselor. “

“I don't have a bucket list but I do consider making one. I don't think that if I had a bucket list that I would have to step outside of my comfort zone because I am a very risky person. I don't think that I would have anyone but myself help complete the things on my bucket list. I would say that coolest thing on my bucket list is to go skydiving. I think that the hardest thing to do is to go bungee jumping. I think that when I’m done with the things on my bucket list that I wouldn’t add more things because I would just forget about it.”

“I kind of have a bucket list it is just in my head. I started a bucket list because I saw it on a cartoon and thought that it would be fun to make one. I only ever see my bucket list when it pops up in my head. My bucket list will probably lead my to my death. I think that  my friends would be the ones to help my complete my bucket list. The hardest thing on by bucket list is to never go to school again and the coolest thing would be to go skydiving. I think that when I’m done with the things on my list I will just keep adding things to it.”

“I don't have a bucket list but I have stuff I would like to do. Nobody had suggested  it but if someone had it would have been my mom. If I had a bucket list it would just be kept in my mind. My list of things I want to do just pops up whenever I think of things I want to do.  Hopefully my list will send me to the the places that I want to go. I think that the coolest thing on my list is to go to disney world and the hardest is to become valedictorian. I think that my mom, my nana, and my Nina will help my accomplish my list.”

“I don't really have a bucket list. My mom helped me kind of form a bucket list. I don't really keep it anywhere. I don't ever look at it because I kind of memorized it. I think that the thing that is on my list that would make me step out if my comfort zone the most is to go skydiving. I think that the coolest thing on my bucket list is to go to Bora Bora and the hardest thing on bucket list is to become a professional softball player.”

“I have a bucket list and I keep it in my mind. I only ever look at it whenever it pops up in my head. My family would be the people to help complete the things on my bucket list because they have all of the money. I think that the coolest thing on my list is to travel to a foreign country for a year and when I finish the things on my bucket list I will add more on to it so I can keep doing fun things over things like spring brake and over the summer.”

“I have a bucket list but it is in my head. I look at my bucket list whenever it pops up in my head. I think that the hardest thing that is on my bucket list is to go swim in the ocean because I want to do it but I also don't. I think that the coolest but also the weirdest was when I ate alligator, it tasted like chicken but felt like fish. I would say that when I finish the things on my bucket list I would add more things to it to keep it interesting with the things I do.”

Blooming Bucket Lists

Ten people were asked the same questions about their bucket list, let’s see what they said! The first question they were asked was to share who inspired them to write a bucket list. 7 people surveyed out of 10 inspired themselves or no one inspired them to write a bucket list. A second question they were asked was, what was the first item on their bucket list. Most people said that their first item on their bucket list was skydiving or learning a new language, but others had bigger visions like becoming president or traveling around the world. Seventh grader Sophia P.’s response to this question was, “I want to learn Vietnamese; it’ll make me really proud because I’ll be able to communicate with my family again.”

Not many of the students knew how they would celebrate after they completed their bucket list. A second quote from seventh grader Sophia P., “I would look in the mirror and stroke my face lovingly.” This was her one way of celebrating. Only 1 person out of 10 people has a paper copy of their bucket list (see right for pie chart visual).

Another question they were asked was, what items on your bucket list require you to go outside of your comfort zone. Most people’s answers had something to do with getting over a fear, like a fear of heights. Another quote from Sophia Phan, this was her response to the question, “I don’t really have a comfort zone… I just do things.” She said this when I asked her, what items require you to go outside of your comfort zone.

Annette White said, “Stop dreaming about your bucket list and start living it.”I hope this article and Annette’s words have inspired you to create your own bucket list, or have the perseverance to complete the one you might already have. Below is a picture of my bucket list, you could use the same format when creating your own!
